Who We Are

Our Story

I Matter Foundation (IMF) began as a vision in 2014 and officially launched in September 2016. Dedicated to raising awareness about learning disabilities and barriers, and providing robust support systems for children and adults facing these challenges.

IMF supports children with special needs and their families by offering educational, psychological, and social programs. Services include afternoon and holiday activities, educational screenings, rehabilitation programs, and family support groups.

Advocating for Physical, Learning disabilities and socio-economic illness.  We strive to build a healthy, inclusive, and informed educational environment by creating partnerships between learners, educators, parents, and communities.

— SUKUMAGal

A targeted initiative for young girls focusing on:

  • Teenage pregnancy
  • Trauma counselling due to (Death, abuse, neglect and poverty)
  • STIs and Sex education
  • Career counselling/guidance
  • Mathematics as a subject of choice for young women
  • Empowering young girls / Women
  • Substance abuse
  • Prostitution /Sugar Daddies

Designed for boys and young men, tackling:

  • Peer pressure and social misconduct
  • Mentorship and rehabilitation
  • Emotional and psychological support
  • Gender based violence

— Rehabilitation Educational Support

A 6-month academic and psychosocial intervention for learners falling behind due to learning disabilities and barriers. This program includes:

  • Screening for learning disabilities
  • Catch-up academic modules
  • Counselling and therapeutic support
  • Language and mathematics support
  • Career guidance and personal development
  • Psycho-social counseling
  • Team building and teacher capacitation
  • Parental involvement and teacher feedback
